  • After-School Program

Our After-School Program is held every day that school is in session, from the end of each school day until 6:00 p.m. Students in grades 4 Year old PreK - 5 who attend Jeremy Ranch, Trailside, McPolin, and Parley’s Park Elementary Schools are eligible to participate. Each day includes homework time, snack time, enrichment activity, active play and quiet time. There will be at least one special activity each month, which may include a Friday field trip or a special guest presentation. There is a behavior code contract that parents and children need to sign. The programs are staffed with fully qualified, trained teachers and specialists who follow national after-school standards. Parents who are interested in observing the camp prior to enrollment are encouraged to stop by during camp hours and speak with the teachers. These programs are coordinated through the Park City Community Education Department with the support of the Park City Education Foundation.

Review complete application and enrollment details at https://www.pcschools.us/community/preschool Preschool is important because it exposes a child to all the foundational pieces and attitudes on which they build their educational career. PCSD Preschool exposes children to new experiences and ideas and then expands on them; staff explore academic language and build academic skills; they negotiate and practice friendship, cooperation, collaboration, and confidence each day. A high-quality early childhood education provides children with cognitive, behavioral, and social skills they don't learn at home. Kindergarten teachers (and beyond) find it easier to teach a child who possesses a strong preschool education background in language skills, listening comprehension, attention management skills, and a positive attitude toward learning.
